Get-together celebration „Christmas Star“
Monday, 17 January 2011 19:49

vakarone_kaledu_zvaigzde_bendraIn a pleasant Sunday afternoon in Vilnius (January 09, 2011), after youths worship service parishioners gathered to a get-together celebration "Christmas Star". Children, their parents, grandparents and other relatives and friends listened a tale about Wise Men from the East who visited Jesus and learnt what the star showed the way for the Wise Men to Bethlehem, what the gifts they brought to the Baby Jesus, what king, at that time, wanted to get rid of Jesus and how Joseph took out Jesus and Mary to Egypt.

Soon after the congregation itself was visited by the same Wise Men. They all compete together at relay, played games, chanted, feasted brought deliciousness. Divided into two teams: Hare's Excellent and Caspar‘s, participants together with the Wise Men competed in a quiz, answered questions the answers to which could known those who read the Bible or listened carefully the tale at the beginning of the meeting. When rejoicing came to an end the Wise Men gave children sweet gifts, asking them funny questions checking whether the kids grow wise.

In addition everyone could have their photo together with eminent guests. When common picture was taken, the Wise Men hurried to travel further together with their gifts. Parishioners were not in a hurry home. They talked to each other for awhile.

Also, would like to remind that kids are welcome to Vilnius Evangelic Reformers Sunday School, (Kestučio 55-7), which take place in the first, third and fifth Sundays of every month from 12:00 am

Giedrius' photos from the event can be found here.
