Ecumenical worship for Christian unity held in Panevėžys

In January 23, 2011, after Evangelical Reformed the third Sunday after the Three Wise Men service, parishioners together with brothers and sisters from other Confession gathered again to Panevėžys Rome Catholic Saint Apostles Peter and Paul Church where the worship of 2011 Lord Jesus Christ Year for Christian unity took place.
Processions of priests from even seven confessions were met by full church. Pastoral bishop vicar, the priest Dr. Gediminas Jankūnas started the service with welcoming all who gathered to a common worship. Evangelical Lutheran pastor Arvydas Malinauskas, Alexey Smirnov, the Orthodox priest and Ramūnas Jukna, the Word of Faith pastor read texts from the Old and New Testaments and the Gospel according to Matthew. Evangelical Reformed Church pastor Raimondas Stankevičius said the Homily, during which he expressed the hope that this week of prayers for Christian unity, will not become the only week in the year, when Christians of different confessions brings together for common prayer and common goals.

The worship was adorned by Orthodox Church trio and glorifiers form the Liberal Christian Church. The all sincerely prayed for Christians of Jerusalem and all Middle East, and also for unity, fellowship, compassion, understanding and peace of all Christian of the World. This was especially felt during the final blessing and farewell.
Those worship passed quickly and Panevėžys Reformers were supremely appreciated to the Lord for giving them the other one exceptional grace, for the common uplifted moments.
